Ayahuasca ceremony in South Holland with SunGaya

You hear her name. You feel her vibration. Something in you recognizes her, even if she still feels unfamiliar. And then the moment comes when you want to experience her for yourself, because every cell in your body feels her call.

What is Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca is a plant medicine that has been used for generations in ceremonial work for healing, insight, and spiritual connection. Traditionally, its effects become possible through the combination of two elements: a DMT-containing plant and an MAO-inhibiting component, allowing the body to receive the visionary experience.

Ayahuasca is not a recreational substance. It requires respect, preparation, and guidance, because it can open deep physical, emotional, and spiritual processes.

What We Serve at SunGaya

Bij SunGaya we work with the combination of Peganum Harmala and Jurema. This is not psilohuasca and therefore contains no psilocybin. Because we do not work with Banisteriopsis caapi, this combination is referred to as an ayahuasca analogue.

The effects are comparable in the sense that it can open a deep inner journey on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. I choose this combination consciously, because in my experience it is clear, grounding, and well supportable within our setting.

To me, this medicine feels like the gentle but steady presence of a mother figure. Where traditional ayahuasca can sometimes be experienced as a grandmother who offers insight from a certain distance, this energy often feels closer. Near, supportive, and attuned to the sensitivities of our Western system.

That doesn’t mean it’s “easy.” It means we work with a container where you can meet whatever arises, without needing to force or control it.

Because people often have questions about this, you’ll find a short explanation below.

Mini-FAQ

Is this psilohuasca?
No. This is not psilohuasca and contains no psilocybin.

Is this “real” ayahuasca?
We don’t work with Banisteriopsis caapi. That’s why we call it an ayahuasca analogue a similar kind of inner journey, with a different composition.

Why do you choose this?
Because in my experience this combination is clear, grounding, and well supportable within our setting, with careful attention to safety.

Can I participate if I’m taking medication?
Not always. We always assess medication, contraindications, and safety beforehand through a check-in.

What a Ceremony Can Bring Up

A ceremony is often more than a profound moment. The real value usually unfolds in the days and weeks that follow, when insights begin to land.

You may notice that you:

  • recognize patterns you’ve been unconsciously repeating for years.

  • encounter emotions you’ve pushed away for a long time.

  • feel more connected to your body and your inner truth.

  • gain clarity about choices, relationships, or direction.

  • experience inner calm, even when it’s confronting.

Ayahuasca doesn’t give ready-made answers. She reveals what is alive within you, so you can choose what to do with it.

Important to know

  • This is not a recreational substance. It requires respect, preparation, and guidance.

  • It can open physical, emotional, and spiritual processes that need time to settle and integrate.

  • Not everyone is ready for it at this moment. That’s why we always work with a check-in and screening.

  • Never stop medication on your own. Always consult and align with your prescribing doctor.

“The ceremony opened something in me that I couldn’t close again, and thanks to the guidance at SunGaya I learned how to be with it in peace.”
